Wayne Gretzky cites an annuity as his best investment.

In a recent interview covered by the Toronto Star (October 2012), Wayne Gretzky offered his advice on investing. He said a conservative investment strategy has served him well, and told the crowd that the best investment he ever made was when his dad “took my cheque (a $250,000 signing bonus from the WHA Indianapolis Racers) and bought annuities. He said we are going to be very conservative and that’s been very solid for me since day one.”

Gretkzy’s annuity was not even tax free.
