“It pains me to admit it, but apparently I have reached the golden age of retirement. My parents told me it would happen someday, but to be quite honest it seemed so far off. After all, retirement is for “old people”!

In September of 2000, after 12 years of private practice alongside a general practitioner (who also happened to be my father-in-law), I was ready to embark on my second career.  I found my way to McKellar Structured Settlements, as their In-House Counsel. Soon the title expanded to include Structured Settlement Consultant and then – suddenly, it seemed - President.

As it so often happens with rewarding and challenging careers, I blinked and it was over, realizing it is now time to embark on new adventures. It has truly been an honour to work with fantastic clients in assisting injured plaintiffs secure certainty in life. I have worked with a group of caring individuals who make up my McKellar family. I have learned so much from each of you and while my retirement is bittersweet, I know I leave McKellar in good hands.”

Effective December 31st, 2023, Rita will retire from being President of McKellar Structured Settlements. We thank her for her dedication and hard work and wish her a long and joyful retirement.
